Kabandula, Abigail

Abigail Kabandula is a Zambian born global governance and human security expert. Abigail holds a Doctoral Degree in Global Governance and Human Security from John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts (UMass Boston), dual Master’s Degrees in Global Governance and Human Security from UMass Boston, and Historical Studies from University of Cape Town (UCT). She also has an Honors Degree in Social Sciences from UCT, and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Zambia.

At the Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures, Abigail works as a Research Scientist researching and writing on myriad issues in international development, security, and the environment. Prior to working at the Pardee Center, Abigail worked as a researcher at Centers for Conflict Resolution (CCR) and Social Science Research (CSSR) in Cape Town. In addition, Abigail has worked extensively with non-profit and civil society organisations across Southern Africa through her work as democracy program associate at Heinrich Böll Foundation Southern Africa regional office in Cape Town.
