Biographical Statement 

Carmen Maganda (PhD) is Research Professor of Environment and Sustainability at the Instituto de Ecología (INECOL), Mexico. Her research focusses on social participation in environmental governance and ecosystem intergrity analysis, sustainable practices in agriculture, environmental politics, water security/justice and regional integration. Recent project address citizen/children empowerment through access to environmental digital data, participative co-design of an environmental App for the monitoring of socioenvironmental perceptions in natural protected areas. She is co-editor of the journal Regions & Cohesion (Berghahn Journals). Carmen´s current projects are GIRH-SH, ECOPICS, CH2ILES, GAMMA, and the co-coordinations of RISC´s Environmental Working Group since 2010.
