CliMent COST Training School on Climate-Mental Health Research Methods

UNU-CRIS and Ghent University are Jointly Hosting CliMent COST Training School on Climate-Mental Health Research Methods

The United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) and Ghent University (UGent) will co-host the first Training School of the CliMent COST Action (CA23113), titled Methods in Climate–Mental Health Survey Design and Quantitative Data Analysis.

The event is scheduled for 17–19 March 2026 in Bruges, bringing together early-career researchers to build capacity in survey design, psychometric testing, cross-cultural adaptation, statistical modelling, and data visualisation for climate-mental health studies.

Hands-on workshops will cover validated instruments from CliMent Working Groups 1 and 2, using tools like SPSS, Jamovi, R, and JASP with simulated pilot data. Sessions will also address survey ethics, inclusivity, and dissemination strategies to strengthen interdisciplinary research at the climate-mental health nexus.

For Young Researchers and Innovators (YRIs) who are active members of the COST ACTION, the priority is to motivate, increase availability, gender balance, and representation from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs).
