Biographical Statement 

During her research internship at UNU-CRIS, Daniela Chamorro Moreno will work under the supervision of Nidhi Nagabhatla within the Nature, Climate and Health Cluster. Her work will support research linking climate, migration, and health, with a focus on assisting the coordination of the CliMigHealth initiative and the COST Action CliMent project. She will also support tasks related to policy briefs and contribute to research activities, including drafting papers and performing data analysis. Her internship is supported by the Flanders Trainee Programme.

Daniela holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint MSc in Rural Development from Ghent University (Belgium), Universidad de Córdoba (Spain), and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany), where she received training in sustainability, environmental governance, and policy-oriented research. She also holds an MSc in Chemistry from Universidad del Valle (Colombia), where her research focused on climate-related stress in agricultural systems.

Her professional experience spans academic research, policy analysis, and applied scientific projects. At the University of Rostock, Germany, Daniela researched EU agricultural policy, focusing on agroecology, sustainability, and climate resilience. She also supported inclusive business and cocoa supply chain research at Rikolto, mapping sourcing models with stakeholders across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and developing recommendations to enhance socio-economic and environmental sustainability. Earlier roles include leading applied research projects in the agri-food sector, coordinating multi-stakeholder collaborations, securing funding for innovation, and providing data analysis and reporting for policy-aligned initiatives in Colombia.

Daniela is pleased to join UNU-CRIS, where she looks forward to supporting evidence-to-action efforts and building on her interdisciplinary background by assisting with project alignment, data-sharing processes, and joint publication planning, while further developing her research profile.
