Mengistu, Debora Daniel
Debora Daniel Mengistu was a research intern at UNU-CRIS. Debora has a bachelor’s degree in History from Addis Ababa University where she also worked as a Graduate Assistant. She completed her master’s degree in Political Science at Hyderabad University in India, where she took public policy, political thought, and some international relations courses. She was enrolled in an Advanced Master’s Programme in Governance and Development at the University of Antwerp. Her research interest is policies for peace and reconstruction in conflict and post-conflict environments.
Debora is passionate about research. She is a staff member at the Ethiopian Defense University where she has been teaching social science courses to undergraduate students. Moreover, she has participated in some national research projects in Ethiopia as a qualitative researcher in which she contributed to the assessment policies.
At UNU-CRIS, under the supervision of Ine Lietaert, Debora worked part-time on the role of regional actors and agreements in the governance of displacement in Ethiopia within the migration and social policy cluster. She contributed to the analysis of national policy documents and the available literature.
