He has taught at the University of Dundee, where he co-founded the Dundee Africa Research Network, and has held roles as Visiting Research Fellow at the University of South Wales, Adjunct Faculty at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, and co-convenor of the British International Studies Association Africa Working Group (2020–2024). A Member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria, he was honoured with the prestigious 2025 Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award for his impact on governance reform. Alongside his academic and policy contributions, Dr. Kogbe is also a published poet, playwright, and novelist, with his latest work, The Girl Who Dares the King (A Play) by Kraft Books Limited, adding a creative dimension to his scholarship and practice.

During his research period within the Re-LAB cluster at UNU-CRIS, he will engage with leading experts in comparative regionalism and exchange conversations on the new analytical framework and empirical insights of his book, Rethinking Civil Society Regionalism in Africa (Routledge), and build a research collaboration for future projects. He will present the book during a stand-alone research seminar and interact with the UNU-CRIS staff, sharing practical guidance on navigating the challenges and exploring opportunities while carrying out doctoral research.
