Agyapong, Edward
Edward Agyapong is currently a research intern at UNU-CRIS. He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in Geography. He was awarded a first-class honours and later worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the KNUST Department of Economics for a year. During his studies at KNUST, his dissertation focused on the impact of agricultural trade on food production in Ghana. He also gained valuable insights, teaching, and research skills during his time as a Teaching and Research Assistant. He is proficient in literature review, database management using MySQL, and data analysis using R, STATA, and Python.
Edward is currently enrolled in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD) programme in Economics of Globalization and European Integration (EGEI). His research interests include trade policy analysis, globalisation, international economics, and development economics, with a focus on informing effective public policy. With his current skillset and educational training, Edward has a strong foundation in research, economic theory, and analytics, and is dedicated to contributing meaningfully to the mission of the institute by leveraging these skillsets.
During his research internship at UNU-CRIS, Edward will primarily work on the update of the RIKS database and the development of effectiveness indicators of regional organisations under the supervision of Samuel Standaert and Glenn Rayp within the Economic and Political Interactions Cluster.
