Biographical Statement 

Enrique Martínez Larrechea is a Sociologist, PhD in International Relations, Master in Social Sciences and Master in Democracy and Education. He is a member of the National System of Research in Uruguay. His research interests include Comparative regionalism, Latin American and European Union, BRICS and regional powers, and International Cooperation and convergence in Education, Science and Technology. He is a professor of the Jean Monnet Module taught at the Catholic University of Uruguay, he has contributed to set up. He has coordinated the International Programme of FLACSO in Uruguay and is currently invited professor of FLACSO Paraguay in IR Theory and Uruguayan and Latin American Foreign Policy. He is the Dean of the School of Sciences of Education of the University of the Enterprise (UDE).

He also headed the Uruguayan delegation to the Regional Education Committee of MERCOSUR. At UNU-CRIS, Dr. Enrique Martinez Larrechea worked closely together with Luk Van Langenhove, Marieke Zwartjes and Francis Baert for a couple of weeks.
