Söderbaum, Fredrik
Fredrik Söderbaum is an Associate Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS since 2006. He is a Professor in the School of Global Studies (SGS) at the University of Gothenburg, where he leads the research group on regional and global governance (REGG). He is also the chair of the Swedish Development Research Network (SweDev).
He received both his BA and MA from Lund University and his PhD in Peace and Development Research from University of Gothenburg (2002).
Söderbaum has published extensively in the fields of comparative regionalism, global and regional governance, development research, and African politics. His most recent books include Contestations of the Liberal International Order. A Populist Script of Regional Cooperation (Cambridge University Press, 2021, with Kilian Spandler and Agnese Pacciardi) and Rethinking Regionalism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016).
He is currently involved in several capacity-building activities and research projects at UNU-CRIS.
