Biographical Statement 

Gabriel Jiménez-Peña obtained a PhD (c) in Political Science from the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá-Colombia. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and was KuWi Gast Student in the Viadrina Universität Frankfurt (O). His research fields are International Political Economy, Regional Integration in Latin America, Economic Development, Trade and Foreign Economic Policy Convergence. Gabriel has taught International Political Economy and International Relations for five years at the Rosario University, Universidad Nacional de Colombia and in the Universidad de los Andes.

At UNU-CRIS, Dr. Jiménez-Peña researched Trade Policy Convergence of Colombia, Peru and Chile through Pacific Alliance, an initiative of regional integration established since 2011 between these countries and Mexico. He spent six months in Bruges, working for the UNU-CRIS academic research programme “Monitoring regionalisation processes”.
