Bayramli, Ghulam Sakhi

Ghulam Sakhi Bayramli was a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS pursuing a Master’s in Global Health, Risk Management, and Hygiene Policies at the University of Bonn in Germany.
His areas of expertise are International Relations and Health Diplomacy. He recently volunteered at Support Horizon Scanning for Strategic Foresight Project by the Inter-factional Union of the Parliament of Ukraine “Strategic Foresight of Ukraine” and the United Nations Development Program -UNDP.
During his internship, Sakhi conducted a spatial analysis of “Leveraging Health Diplomacy for Climate Action in Conflict Areas of South Asia, focusing on Afghanistan”. He utilized, analyzed, and explored how health diplomacy can enhance climate action in conflict-affected regions of South Asia, particularly Afghanistan, by fostering collaboration among stakeholders and integrating health considerations into climate initiatives.
Additionally, he conducted a comprehensive analysis of the intersection between climate change, health challenges, and conflict dynamics in Afghanistan and surrounding regions. He also formulated strategies that incorporate health diplomacy into climate action plans, emphasizing the importance of addressing health vulnerabilities exacerbated by climate change.
He worked under the supervision of Nidhi Nagabhatla within the Nature, Climate, and Health Cluster.
