Shibu, Kavya

Kavya Shibu was a virtual intern at UNU-CRIS who holds a Bachelor of Fisheries Science degree from Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies. She is currently pursuing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Aquaculture, Environment and Society (ACES-STAR).

During her bachelor’s degree, Kavya received hands on training from the National Institute of Fisheries Post Harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT) and the Indian Council of Research Institute- Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI). She has experience in working in a government fish farm, Kerala. Having a wide insight in the fisheries field, she realised the need to tackle climate change for sustainable growth of aquaculture.

Under the supervision of Nidhi Nagabhatla, Kavya worked on different projects and supporting the reports within the Nature, Climate and Health Cluster.
