Biographical Statement 

During her visiting research fellowship at UNU-CRIS, Dr. Laure Gillot-Assayag will study public ethics in transnational governance, with a particular emphasis on the EU’s role as a normative power, working closely with Frank Mattheis within the Re-LAB Cluster. Currently an associate researcher at EHESS (France), and postdoctoral scholar at Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany), her postdoctoral research examines the development of EU ethical governance in dialogue with international and regional normative frameworks.

Previously, she held a JSPS-CNRS postdoctoral fellowship at Keio University (Tokyo, Japan) and served as a lecturer at Sciences Po, EHESS, and Keio University. She holds four master’s degrees in history, law, and philosophy from French grandes écoles. 

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Gillot-Assayag has provided advice and recommendations to international organizations and national bodies, including UNESCO, UNFPA, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, and the US Congress. She is an expert evaluator for COST Europe and a member of the French observatory of Public Ethics.
