Dixit, Mini

Ms. Mini Dixit was the Communications Assistant at UNU-CRIS. She assisted the Policy and Communications Officer, Andrew Dunn, in disseminating information on UNU-CRIS’ mission, contributions and activities. In order to make the institute’s research accessible for various target groups, she reinforced and built media relations, managed UNU-CRIS’ social media presence and forged new partnerships. She worked closely with the institute’s researchers to reach new audiences and narrowed the gap between scientific research and action. She also assisted in language editing various kinds of outputs.

Mini has previously worked as the Communications and Public Diplomacy Officer at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ (Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken) mission in New Delhi, India. There, she steered the communication efforts on key Indo-Dutch policy goals (water, healthcare, agribusiness, culture, SDGs and Innovation) by monitoring local trends, advising representatives on key messaging, developing digital content and managing media relations. Additionally, she has been a trainee and journalist in the newsrooms of leading Indian media houses, Network18 and India Today.

In 2020, Mini graduated from the Institute of Housing Studies (IHS), Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands with an Master of Sciences in Urban Development and Management. As a part of her specialisation in Urban Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability, Mini’s thesis assessed the influence of city-level governance on the community-level resilience of an informal settlement in Mumbai, India.
