Globalization is one of the most important processes involving contemporary humanity, and, significantly, for at least fifteen years it has been one of the phenomena most thoroughly studied by the social sciences. Not surprisingly, therefore, in an attempt to acquire an ever greater quantity of information about the phenomenon, various researchers have sought to devise instruments with which to measure it.
