At UNU-CRIS, Ebenezer works under the supervision of Samuel Standaert within the RIKS Cluster. His research focuses on analyzing the impact of colonization on contemporary international trade. This involves preparing and analyzing a comprehensive dataset detailing the colonial histories of countries, which underpins a gravity analysis of colonial ties and international trade. The project sheds light on how colonial legacies continue to shape today’s economic outcomes and informs policy discussions on development and international cooperation.
