Biographical Statement 

Staf Bridelance is a research intern at UNU-CRIS. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Ghent University. Throughout his academic journey, Staf has cultivated a keen interest in economic policies and their societal impacts. Beyond his academic endeavors, Staf has been deeply involved in extracurricular activities that have shaped his perspectives on global issues. As the Events Director of MUN Society Belgium, he has embraced opportunities to engage in international diplomacy and leadership, fostering a deeper understanding of global governance and collaboration. Additionally, his participation in the FEB Student Excellence Programme at UGent has furthered his interest in sustainable economic practices, particularly through his work on projects related to the European Green Deal.

During his internship at UNU-CRIS, Staf will work under the supervision of Ilse Ruyssen within the Migration and Social Policy Cluster. Staf will primarily work on investigating the impact of coups d'état on the migration intentions of different population groups, using data from the Gallup World Polls. His research aims to provide valuable insights into how political regime changes influence migration patterns, contributing to a deeper understanding of this critical issue and informing future policy developments.
