Peters, Chiara
Chiara Peters is a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS. She holds a Bachelor in International Relations and Organizations from Leiden University and a Master in European and International Governance from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In her master’s thesis, building on her previous internship at the Embassy of Samoa, she studied the influences of major powers’ engagement in the Pacific region on the ownership of Pacific Regionalism.
Before undertaking an internship at UNU-CRIS, Chiara has already interned at the Anna Lindh Foundation working on social cohesion policy and bringing together civil society organizations from different countries. Moreover, in her Bachelor thesis, Chiara researched Rebel Diplomacy and Governance as one form of non-traditional diplomacy.
During her internship at UNU-CRIS, Chiara will work under the supervision of Luk van Langenhove within the Unit on Non-Traditional Diplomacy (UNTRAD). Next to providing research support for the unit, Chiara will primarily work on preparing a working paper for the UNU-CRIS WP series on pacific regionalism. Additionally, she will provide editorial support for a book project of Luk van Langenhove.
