Timmermans, Nand

During his research internship at UNU-CRIS, Nand Timmermans primarily worked on developing a policy paper focused on localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the supervision of Philippe De Lombaerde within the Re-LAB Cluster. This research endeavour involved collaborating with another student to analyze effective strategies for implementing SDGs at local and regional levels. Nand examined best practices and challenges in adapting global sustainability frameworks to local contexts, identifying key stakeholders and governance mechanisms that facilitate successful SDG implementation.
Through this internship, Nand contributed to the UNU-CRIS mission of enhancing understanding of regional integration processes and their implications for global governance, with a particular focus on how multi-level governance approaches can advance sustainable development objectives.
