Stephen Kingah was an Associate Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS. Stephen has been serving as adjunct professor at the Pan-African University center for governance at the University of Yaoundé II in Cameroon.
Stephen received his LLB and Masters of Laws at the University of Yaoundé II; an LLM from the University of Texas in Austin; a Masters in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford; and a PhD in International Law from the Free University of Brussels (VUB).
Stephen’s research has mainly dwelt on the intersection between law and economic justice reform. As such he as taught and written extensively on this topic as well as the relevance of regional bodies/processes on economic justice reform. He has taught courses on regionalism and international (comparative) law at the Universities of Maastricht; Strasbourg; the Pan African University, amongst others. At a more granular level his interests can be subsumed under five clusters:
- Comparative regionalism as featuring thread in the other clusters (institutions/ processes)
- The Law and access to medicines and vaccines (pharmaceuticals)
- Constitutionalizing economic and social rights (economic justice reform) including efforts to combat corruption and return stolen assets
- National security law and efforts to combat terrorism
- North-South relations and transnational policy networks
