Biographical Statement 

Paola Pozo followed her Master´s Degree in Europe and International Relationships in KU Leuven University. She graduated from an Advance Master in Globalization and Development at the University of Antwerp in 2021, focusing in the impact of Regional Integration in MSME´s in Latin America as economic and social development engines. Before that, she obtained a Bachelor´s degree in Financial Engineering at the Catholic University of Bolivia under the Business School of Production and Competitiveness, focused in the entrepreneurship and economic area as a global issue with additional socio-political and numerical subjects from Economics. Her Bachelor thesis was focused on the evaluation of a Closed-End Fund for SME´s where she became highly interested in the importance of MSME´s role in economic development but especially for developing countries.

Paola focused in the mix of institutions at local, national and international level, their good governance and proper cooperation from the national, to regional and closing in the international integration for a dynamic economic and social development. Moreover, the importance of the creation of an adequate national and international framework, where institutions can interact properly to offer opportunities in their area of influence is one of her main interests. 

During her 3-month internship at UNU-CRIS, Paola worked under the supervision of Glenn Rayp and contributed to the RIKS area. Her research focused in digging about MSMEs role in Latin America and also about GVC.
