Regina has engaged in clinical and community health settings, including a recent position as a mental health student nurse at the Institute of Psychiatry of the University of São Paulo’s. Her participation in academic exchanges in Portugal and collaborative projects across Europe has contributed to a growing understanding of global health system challenges.

During her research internship at UNU-CRIS, she will primarily work on projects that examine the connections between climate change, mental health, and disaster preparedness, with a focus on vulnerable populations and health systems in crisis settings, supporting initiatives that integrate health resilience into climate action and environmental governance. The primary aim is to evaluate the mental health impacts of climate change and to identify sustainable, long-term strategies to address these challenges.
