Biographical Statement
During his Professorial Fellowship at UNU-CRIS, Rob Heyman will participate in the Programme Committee of the UNU Macau AI Conference 2025 and will participate in UNU-CRIS activities on topics related to AI governance and ethics within the Digital Governance Cluster.
Professor Heyman is the Coordinator of the Knowledge Centre Data and Society, which is part of the Flemish strategic plan on AI. He is a senior researcher at imec-SMIT, based at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he conducts research on participative methods in innovation projects between different stakeholders (legal, civil society, end-users) so that societal, legal and ethical values are integrated during development.
