Robert Mason is a virtual Visiting Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS, a Senior Non-Resident Fellow with the Gulf Research Center, and a Non-Resident Fellow with the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor and Director of the Middle East Studies Center at the American University in Cairo where he led a project funded by the European Union.
During his virtual visiting research fellowship at UNU-CRIS, Robert Mason will work with Frank Mattheis as part of the Regions and Cities Governance Lab (Re-Lab Cluster) and will primarily focus on a project which analyzes and assesses external engagement, security and development issues in the Sahel.
