Couvreur, Sjorre
Sjorre Couvreur is PhD Fellow at UNU-CRIS and PhD researcher at the Ghent Institute for International & European Studies (GIES) of Ghent University. He is supervised by Jan Orbie, Ferdi De Ville and Thomas Jacobs. His PhD research is funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO). He holds a Master in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe and a Master in International Politics from Ghent University. At Ghent University, he received the Marthe Versichelen award for the best Master thesis in political science. Before starting his PhD, he worked at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels and the US Foreign Service Institute in Washington DC. His PhD research focuses on the geopoliticisation of EU trade policy.
