Goyal, Tanya
Tanya Goyal will be contributing to the Nature, Climate, and Health Cluster at UNU-CRIS under the guidance of Nidhi Nagabhatla, along with Santosh Vijaykumar. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Delhi, India. Her interdisciplinary research lies at the nexus of climate change and public health, exploring how climate change exacerbates existing inequalities across the Global South.
Tanya has received multiple international research and travel grants to represent her work at leading academic forums, including Royal Geographical Society (UK), Europa-Universität Viadrina, Bergishe Universität Wuppertal, and the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (Germany) among others. Her research contributions span both academic and policy domains. Tanya’s forthcoming chapter in a DAAD-funded Springer (2025) volume “Social Inequalities within and among Countries: Achieving SDG 10 through Social Interventions” examines inequalities in Indian healthcare systems through a comparative and transnational lens.
At UNU-CRIS, Tanya’s work will continue to focus on climate-health vulnerabilities in the Global South, contributing to research that bridges global climate resilience and public health equity through interdisciplinarity and international collaborations.
