Devriendt, Tim
Tim Devriendt is a research intern at UNU-CRIS. He is a Belgian law student with an interest in international and commercial law, having obtained a Bachelor and Master of Laws from KU Leuven, Belgium, and a Master of Laws in Studies of Legal Frontiers from Waseda University, Japan.
Over the course of his academic trajectory, Tim has primarily focused on cross-border legal frameworks, with a specific interest in international investment agreements and arbitration. His thesis focused on the accessibility of international investment protection and dispute settlement between EU member states and third countries. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Economics, Law, and Business at KU Leuven.
During his academic assistant internship at UNU-CRIS, directly supported by the Flanders Trainee Programme, Tim will primarily work under the supervision of Phillippe De Lombaerde and Andrew Dunn, assisting them in the preparation of the institute’s academic outputs, the preparation of presentations for both internal and external audiences, the research and identification of new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations, as well as the organisation and dissemination of events.
