Aminu, Toheeb
Toheeb Aminu was a Research intern at UNU-CRIS, bringing a robust background in economics and professional experience from KPMG Nigeria. He was a graduate of Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and he pursued a joint master's programme in Economic Globalization and European Integration at the University of Bari, Ghent University, and the University of Tartu, under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree scholarship programme.
Toheeb's research interests encompass development, foreign direct investment (FDI), and international trade, and his master's thesis explores the interaction of conflict and export dynamics in Sub-Saharan Africa.
At UNU-CRIS, Toheeb worked with the Economic Interactions cluster under the supervision of Glenn Rayp. He was involved in updating and extending the Database on the Environmental Impact Assessment of Trade Agreements (DEIATA) and seeked to uncover the connections between environmental impact assessments of trade agreements and the clauses on environmental issues of trade included in the agreement.
