Biographical Statement 

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from Durham University, Rory Johnson held several different management roles in the retail sector before deciding to return to university, recently completing a Masters in International Relations at Leiden University. During his time at Leiden, Rory co-founded and subsequently became a lead editor and contributor for a new student-run online journal, the Leiden International Review.

Rory’s research interests include the areas of peacebuilding, security studies and regional integration, particularly with regards to the Horn of Africa region.

At UNU-CRIS he will primarily be working on manuscripts and journal articles in the context of the ‘Role of Regions in Global Governance’ research programme.

Rory will work under the supervision of Director Madeleine Hosli and Ewout Ramon until the end of December.
