As we pave the way for a sustainable and resilient future, let's acknowledge the pivotal role of youth in this journey. Empowering our young leaders with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need is crucial for driving positive change and innovation across sectors. By investing in their capacity development, we can harness their potential to shape solutions that truly matter. To this agenda, this session, supported by UNU CRIS in collaboration with Imo State University, Nigeria, will open discussion on how UN/UNU-supported platforms and initiatives can enable youth in Africa to actively participate in building a sustainable world, provide opportunities to utilize their creativity and integrate their fresh perspectives as assets in our collective journey toward a just transition and an equitable world.

Today, we're hosting a special session focused on Africa to nurture the potential of youth and engage in meaningful discussions in collaboration with Professor Kenneth Yongabi Anchang, Imo State University, Nigeria. Our senior fellow, Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla, who will join this session, is also a visiting professor at this University.

UNU interns Belaneh Fentahun Shibesh and Chibuzor Ubah will also join the session to share their insights about the internship at UNU-CRIS.
