Dr. Abass, Ademola
Professor Ademola Abass joined UNU-CRIS as a Research Fellow in Peace and Security on 1 July 2010. He was also the Head of Peace and Security Programme. He was formerly Professor of International Law and Organisation at Brunel University, West London and was educated at the Universities of Lagos, Cambridge, and Nottingham. He holds a PhD in International Law and has previously taught in several British universities.
Ademola was the African Union’s first expert on regional mechanisms and also served as the European Commission’s expert on capacity building for African regional organisations amongst others. He researched broadly in Public International Law and Peace and Security, and has published widely in areas of collective security law, international criminal law, and international organisations.
