Biographical Statement 

Ashley Stead was a student of the International Master’s Programme of Asia-Pacific Studies at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan. During her Master’s degree she has focussed her studies on Asia Pacific regional development, cross-strait relations and the political and social development and structure of Taiwan. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with Major in Political Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

She previously worked as a Research Officer for the Canada Border Services Agency. Her main research interests include Asian diplomacy and regional development and integration studies. During her internship at UNU-CRIS, Ashley was supervised by Dr. Lurong Chen and supported the activities of monitoring the implementation and impact of regional integration with geographical focus on Asia Pacific as part of the Monitoring Regional Integration Programme.
