Biographical Statement 

Benjamin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Genoa, a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Journalism from the Warsaw University and was a candidate for a joint Master’s of Science in Public Policy and Human Development from the University of Maastricht and UNU-MERIT in Maastricht.

Throughout his academic career he has written extensively on the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), the EU interregional relations with other regional organisations and the EU environmental policy. His current Master’s dissertation focusses on Natural Resource Management and Multilevel Governance, in particular on the administrative arrangements that EU Member States have set up to comply with the EU Water Framework Directive. His main interests are EU environmental and innovation policy, natural resources and energy management and multi-level governance.

As a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS, he mainly focussed on the European Leadership in Cultural, Science and Innovation Diplomacy (EL-CSID), a project inscribed within the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme. He was supervised by Director Van Langenhove until mid-August 2016.
