De Bacquer, Jaco
Jaco De Bacquer was a research intern at UNU-CRiS. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economic Sciences from Ghent University and he will pursue his master's degree in 2023. During his time at UNU-CRIS, Jaco was responsible for updating the membership information of all Regional Integration Agreements (RIAs) in the RIKS database. His tasks included identifying new members, tracking exiting members, and handling suspensions.
Additionally, he was tasked with identifying and adding new treaties to the RIKS database that meet the three criteria for inclusion. Jaco also focused on filling any existing gaps in the database and updated the merged database on regional integration agreements. Apart from database updating, Jaco was also involved in sourcing new indicator data related to GDP, population, human development index, bilateral trade, migration, and investment. Moreover, he computed various regional integration indicators for trade, investment, and migration for an organization of his choice.
Within the Economic Interactions’ Cluster and the RIKS Cluster, under the supervision of Glenn Rayp and Samuel Standaert, he interned at UNU-CRIS until mid-September.
