Tromp Meesters, Jacques Willem

Jacques Willem Tromp Meesters studied the relationship between environmental policy, bilateral investment treaties (BITs)/investor-state dispute settlement clauses (ISDS) and foreign direct investment (FDI). Apart from this, he also helped to systematically analyse the content of BITs, with the purpose of creating a comprehensive dataset. This internship was supervised by Adelina Sharipova and Samuel Standaert.

Jacques holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from KULeuven and a master’s degree of Complementary Studies in Economics from Ghent University. While engaging in the internship, Jacques also studied for a master’s degree in International Relations at the University of Antwerp.
