Yang, Zi

Ivy Yang was a Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the University of Warwick in the UK. In her funded research she assessed the changing geopolitical dynamic of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/digital policies among the EU, the US and China. At UNU-CRIS, she was a visiting doctoral research fellow contributing to the projects in the UNTRAD and Digital Governance Cluster with Luk van Langenhove and Jamal Shahin. 

Ivy holds a MA in International Security from the University of Warwick. Her master’s dissertation examined and compared the US’ and EU’s responses to the China’s Digital Silk Road Initiative. She received her BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California where she focused on US foreign policy and national security. In-between her BA and MA studies, Ivy worked at multiple think-tanks on security policy-related projects in Washington DC and at an American SaaS company in Shanghai. Her core research interests are AI/digital policy, geopolitical analysis, and science diplomacy.
