Morais, Carlota
Carlota Morais obtained a Bachelor´s degree in Law from the University of Lisbon in 2019. Having pursued academic studies at the post-graduate level in Political Communication and Advisory (2019-2020), she became interested in the field of public policy, enrolling at the University of Amsterdam to obtain a Master´s degree in European Policy (2020-2021).
Carlota´s thesis focused on the concept of technological sovereignty as represented by EU actors and the impact of their discourse on cloud and data policy. Her research interests focus on the impact of the concept of technological sovereignty in EU policy, thus not limited to the EU´s digital strategy but as a relevant discourse to adjacent policy areas, such as research and innovation and industrial policy.
During her internship at UNU-CRIS, Carlota worked under the supervision of Jamal Shahin, contributing to the Digital Governance cluster and supporting the Chair in Digital Sovereignty activities. Secondly, she contributee, building upon her previous research on the topic, for a proposal of a working paper on technological sovereignty.
