Best Research Poster Award at Nazarbayev University Conference on Planetary Health

UNU-CRIS is pleased to share that the poster titled “Health Strategies for Resilience Building for Climate-Stressed Aral Sea Communities” received the Best Research Poster Award at the 1st Nazarbayev University International Conference on Planetary Health and Environmentally Sustainable Healthcare (December 4–5, 2025, Astana, Kazakhstan).

The conference, organized by the School of Medicine, Nazarbayev University, brought together international scholars and practitioners to explore innovative approaches to planetary health and sustainable healthcare systems. Our work was presented on-site by Dr. Alma Uakhiyovna Nurtazina (Operational Director, Central Asian Regional Center for Planetary Health (CARCPH), and Vice Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation, Semey Medical University, Kazakhstan). The poster has been included in the conference proceedings. We believe this recognition highlights the growing relevance of UNU-CRIS’s Planetary Health research and collaboration in Central Asia.
