Timothy Shaw is an Associate Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS and an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, UOttawa and UMass in Boston.
Timothy Shaw holds degrees from a trio of continents: Sussex, Makerere & Princeton. He taught PS & IDS at Dalhousie University in NS for three decades before ten years animating postgrad institutes in London (Commonwealth) & Trinidad (IR). He actively supervises PhDs at UMass Boston, uOttawa, Carleton U & IIR/UWI. Timothy Shaw is also a visiting professor in IR at RUDN in Moscow. Related to this position, his latest coedited collection is on Africa & the Formation of a New System of IR.
He has been a visiting professor in Denmark, Japan, Nigeria, UK, Zambia & Zimbabwe & is still such a visitor at Mbarara & Stellenbosch universities in Africa.
Timothy is editor for International Political Economy Series, (Palgrave Macmillan/Springer Nature) and International Political Economy of New Regionalisms Series (Routledge).
He is editorial board member of African Review, African Security, African Security Review, Canadian Journal of Development Studies, Globalizations, Governance in Africa, IR of the Asia-Pacific, Journal of Global Ethics, Journal of Intervention & Statebuilding, Round Table, Third World Quarterly & Routledge book series on IR in East Asia etc.
