The webinar, taking place on Friday, 17 June 2022 from 12.00 until 1 pm (CET) will facilitate discussion on the Special Issue: Incorporating Ecosystem Services into Water Resource Management—Tools, Policies, and Promising Pathways the Environmental Management Journal Volume 69, issue 4, April 2022. The publication has been edited by the co-leads, including UNU-CRIS' Nidhi Nagabhatla, from the SWG 5–Ecosystem Services in Water Management, and showcases 13 papers from various regions and states-including Costa Rica, Sudan, Tanzania, Brazil, SE Asia, Columbia, Baltic Sea, Ireland etc. This includes the editorial paper, Incorporating Ecosystem Services into Water Resources Management—Tools, Policies, Promising Pathways. 

The panel discussion will also highlight key points from UNU CRIS’ contribution to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

Background

UNU CRIS’ Nidhi Nagabhatla co-leads the ESP ( Ecosystem Services  Partnership ) sectoral working on water (SWG 5–Ecosystem Services in Water Management) - an international community of scientists, policymakers, practitioners, stakeholders, and end-users of ecosystem services at local, national, regional and global scale. The partnership fosters collaboration between its members, partners, associated organizations, related networks and society. With many different collaboration units and , groups who work together on a specific topic via our working groups; a specific geographical zone via the regional chapter and national networks; ESP is a global network to enhance the science, policy and practice of ecosystem services for conservation and sustainable development.
