Abstract:
SEVENTY years ago, the Allied nations met at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods (New Hampshire, US) to design the international economic system in which we still live today. As the Second World War was winding down, tens of countries sent their best leaders, intellectuals and political representatives to redefine economic progress and build the new global order. It took them only 20 days to chart a new development trajectory for mankind.
