Biographical Statement 

Andrea Parra was a member of the international relations unit of the University of Liège (Belgium) and was also a PhD fellow in Political Science of the University of Liège. She holds a MBA with a major in International Trade and Commerce from Newport University (United States), a Magister in analysis of economic, political and international contemporaneous problems from the Externado University (Colombia), in association with the Institute of High Studies for Latin-America (IHEAL) – Sorbonne Paris III, and a Master degree of Sciences of Language, of the Man and of the Society of the University of Besançon (France). She has also been formed to diplomacy in the Diplomatic Academy of San Carlos from the Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministry (Colombia).

She has been coordinator of the international relations’ programme at the University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Cartagena (Colombia) and has worked as a lecturer of techniques of international communication at the same university in Bogota (Colombia). She has also worked as an international relations manager in the private sector in Colombia.

Andrea Parra has published on interregionalism, soft power, corporative social responsibility (CSR) as an element of the global governance. She has presented papers about those topics in Colombia, Argentina and Spain. Her current research interests include interregionalism and more specifically the relationship between Europe and Latin-America. The title of her Ph.D. Thesis is “The European Union and the influence of its actions in Latin-American integration. The case of the Andean Community of Nations”.

Andrea Parra worked as a visiting researcher under the supervision of Dr. Philippe De Lombaerde for a period of two months.
