CESSMIR conference 2022: Contemporary Forms of Racism and Discrimination

CESSMIR’s Second Conference, organised by Ghent University, opens up an exchange platform for researchers, practitioners and policymakers on the contemporary forms of racism and discrimination from a broad, interdisciplinary approach.

UNU-CRIS is organising two sessions on climate emergency and health adaptation and discriminatory practices within the governance of mobility.

Nidhi Nagabhatla, Senior Research fellow at UNU-CRIS, will moderate the session Gaps and Needs to Address Discrimination that Features in Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment, Climate and Disaster Management Services and Policies. Experts from Europe and MENA Region will share their experience from working in the field. The session will also feature the projects UNU Climate Resilience Initiative and  CliMigHealth Networks that UNU-CRIS is implementing in partnership with Ghent University experts.

Ine Lietaert, Professorial Fellow at UNU-CRIS, will run the symposium Discriminatory practices within the governance of mobility where professor Lietaert and UNU-CRIS PhD Fellows will discuss migration mobility in Western African countries.
