Collaboration between UNU-CRIS and UNU-FLORES: UNU-CRIS will provide Guest Lecturer to UNU-FLORES CIPSEM COURSE 2023
The course is coordinated by UNU-FORES along with UNEP/UNESCO/BMUV International Postgraduate Course on Environmental Management for Developing Countries at TU Dresden. This course follows an integrated and interdisciplinary approach in line with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement, covering key aspects of sustainability, environmental management and natural resources governance. The talk by Dr Nidhi Nagabhatla is scheduled on June 2nd, 2023, entitled "Breaking Barriers and Building Resilience: The Strategic Role of Gender-inclusive Water and Climate Research, Policy and Action" and will steer a discussion on the below-stated questions :
• How do climate change and water insecurity disproportionately affect gender groups, and what are the underlying gendered factors that exacerbate these impacts?
• What are the potential strategies and best practices for promoting gender-inclusive water management and adaptation measures in the context of climate change?
• How can the participation of different gender groups in decision-making processes related to water and climate governance be enhanced, and what are the potential benefits of such participation for sustainable development outcomes?
