Nidhi Nagabhatla speaks at the 4th Odisha River Conference, India

Towards the contribution to World Water Day (2024), UNU-CRIS is supporting the Odisha River Conference (India) themed ‘Building socio-economic, ecological and cultural resilience to climate change.’ Joining  40 organizations from across the world supporting this event, including Water Aid, Aaina, Welthungerhilfe, Kubernine Initiative, National Institute for Urban Affairs (Govt. of India), Wetlands International South Asia, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, The Nature Conservancy, Water and many others, UNU-CRIS is supporting the message towards collective and meaningful deliberations that helps shape up water secure future for all, along with #Youth4Water campaign. 

Dr Nidhi Nagabhatla, while providing opening remarks for the event, also mentioned the United Nations World Water Development Report (2024)- the United Nations’ flagship report on water offers an authoritative and comprehensive assessment of the overall state, use, and management of the world’s freshwater resources and aims to provide decision-makers with tools to formulate and implement sustainable water policies. UNU CRIS has contributed insights for the chapter on Human settlements and WASH.
