UNU-CRIS will participate in the 5th Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) Network workshop, 13-15 September 2023,UN Campus, Bonn, Germany
Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla represents UNU-CRIS at this strategic meeting (13 - 15 September 2023) to contribute to the discourse on ‘Nature as a connector between disaster risk reduction, climate, land, and biodiversity’. The event also celebrates the PEDRR Network’s 15th anniversary – the network continues to collect and promote cutting-edge science on the important role of ecosystems in reducing disaster risk through its weekly newsletter, webinars, online courses, in-person workshops, conference sessions, policy briefs, contributions to scientific articles and books promoting “Eco-DRR’-Ecosystem-based approaches to disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR). Hosted by the Resilience to Disasters and Conflicts Global Support Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Geneva, Switzerland, PEDRR serves as a global alliance of UN agencies, NGOs, and specialist institutes to promote and scale-up implementation of Eco-DRR, wherein partners implement collectively planned initiatives and activities.
